Woman
was mad from the rib of a man
she was not created from his head~to the top of him
nor from his feet~to be stepped upon
She was made
from his side~to be equal to him:
from beneath his arm~to be protected by him:
near his heart~to be loved by him

I love this...so simple yet a powerful thing to remember in this crazy world where our roles regularly get mixed up and confused.

This poem has hung on the wall at my mom's house for years...but I never paid attention to it until today. I was in South Carolina over the weekend and when I read this...it made sense to me.

Welcome to the 12th Planet. Make sure that you come back. We have a good time over here. We're here everyday like the school bully.
Great post! Love it!
The first time I heard this the Rev said it at my wedding. It stuck with me then, and it rings true to my now.
I wonder how many people would interpret that in different ways? Especially since the man that stood beside me then is now the "ex"
from the side homie
from the side
i like it
That's what's up! I'll be happy when I get to be a man's rib and we have some ribtips! lol...I got that from a Rev. I know...that's how he refers to his wife and kids.
This is so true. Thank God for Strong, Decent, Black men who not only know but do what it takes everyday to make sure their woman is taken care of. As we all know words are just words...
Don't just tell me you love me.
Confirm it daily in your actions!
Aint that the truth!!!!!
LOL @ kitten!! (Me T)
