gimmedatbeat

Dope beats...dope rhymes...what more do y'all want?

A young LL Cool J told you that he needed a beat

Don't we all?

When it comes to hip hop, most people hear the beat long before they hear the song. That's natural. Hip hop beats are so distinctive. They run through you. They move you. They make you move. Some of the songs with the dopest beats often intrigue me. I wonder if the lyrics came before the beats. Or if the beats inspired the lyrics.

When I think of some of the best beat makers in hip hop...a few names come to mind...

Jay Dilla (RIP)

Dr. Dre

Timbaland

DJ Premier

Neptunes

Just to name a few.

When I hear a beat like the beat from Biggie's song Dead Wrong...my head starts knocking. But that's just one beat.

What about you? What beat moves you?

Who are some of your favorite hip hop producers?

Old school hip-hop seemed to be made for dancing. That may be the big difference between then and now.

Whoever laid the beat for the new Sade song 'Soldier of Love' did their thing. That song just makes me want to move.

Man too many beats too many producers from the real beats to the beats totally made to put that knock in your trunk. Gotta pay homage to the south and list David Banner he's produced quite few joints I LOVE (if nobody else prob does)and no it doesn't have to do with how fine I think he is (ok maybe a little bit).

However the beat is the key to everything, its how you get women to dance to songs that ain't talking about them!!

As much as I don't care for Puff, the beat to "All About the Benjamins" is still one of my all-time favorites.

I have really fallen in love with Nicolay from the Foreign Exchange!! His beats are so smooth, almost feels like easy listening and it was perfect study music this semester.

I loved me some Timbaland. He was just so unique, him and Missy were doing their thing for sure. I also like that real ole skoole hip hop, like that "on the left song", that is my jam still!
