PODCAST: It Was Written...20 Years Later

1996 was an incredible year for hip hop. On July 2, 1996, NaS released his 2nd album, It Was Written. It was the follow up to his classic debut, Illmatic. This album would be his most commercially successful album spawned by the smash hit “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)” with Lauryn Hill.

On The 12kyle Podcast, I will discuss the It Was Written and the significance of the album. I’ll also talk about the “beef” that NaS had with Tupac and Jay Z. Listen to the podcast and share your thoughts!

PODCAST: Reasonable Doubt...20 Years Later

1996 was an incredible year for hip hop. On June 25, 1996, Jay Z released his first album, Reasonable Doubt, on Rocafella Records. At the time of its release, Jay Z believed that it would be his first...and only album. Jay Z, born Shawn Corey Carter, offered a debt that initially did not come with a great deal of commercial success. However, Jay Z gave us one of the best albums of 1996 and an album that was considered by many to be a hip hop classic.

On The 12kyle Podcast, I will discuss the Reasonable Doubt and the significance of the album. Listen to the podcast and share your thoughts!
