I was never much of a movie guy.

The past few years I've gotten into movies.

I like going to the movies nowadays.

I love the popcorn and the whole aura of being at the movies. I've even expanded my DVD collection. It's nice but not as big as my boy, Dluvhall's. The other day I watched The Hangover for the 2nd time. It was hilarious...again. As I was watching it, I tried to even remember when it was out in theatres. I couldn't remember. Was I too busy to see it? Or did I just not care. I remember having a conversation with my boys, Moe and Clark, about the movie. When I told them that I hadn't seen it, they asked me about some other movie. I hadn't seen it. They asked me about 3 more movies. Nope...didn't see them either. Then, it dawned on me...there are a TON of movies that I HAVEN'T seen. I know if I told you some of the movies that I haven't seen...it'd piss you off. You'd say..."I can't believe you've never seen that!" Well...here ya go...

The Color Purple

The Matrix (the original and the rest of the series)

The Godfather

GoodFellas

Casino

Die Hard

The Shining

Soul Plane (LOL)

Any of the Madea movies

Braveheart

Gladiator

Pulp Fiction

Kill Bill (1 & 2)

Blade

Belly

Monster's Ball

Precious

The Pursuit of Happiness

I could go on...but I won't.

  3. Kyle really!?!?! Some of those you can do without seeing...like the Madea movies, Soul Plane, Blade, and perhaps even Belly. The rest is just a damn shame man. Damn shame. You better set aside some hours to devote to the rest of those movies!!

  4. I think you should give a list of movies you have seen. I think that will indicate what movies you are really into. From your list it seems you aren't drawn to typical "chick flicks" like the Color Purple or TP films, ganster movies (Godfather and Goodfellas), and sci-fi or period action films (Matrix and Gladiator). If you list a bunch of comedies, then I will just assume that's what you like.

  5. I really have to rethink if I want you to come to NY after this list! I mean really KD1 you need to be ashamed that you've never seen Goodfella, Casino and The Godfather! Your application for entrance into this city is on hold until further notice!

  8. I'm going to act like I didn't read that list of movies that I know is even LOOOONGER and say.. "No Comment" as I Shake My Head!

That's my #1 hobby until I started skating seriously (great exercise/ peace of mind) the beginning of this year. But I still get to the movies, and those that I really want to see, opening day/night I'm up in the movie house!

  11. You haven't missed anything but half of the pop culture references from the last twenty years. How do you communicate with people?

  12. Many of the films listed I haven't seen either. I've heard good things about most of 'em, but I never really took the time to go DVD chasing.

Judging from some of the comments I believe I should.

    Great movies:
    The Color Purple
    The Matrix (the original)
    GoodFellas
    Casino
    Gladiator
    Pulp Fiction
    The Pursuit of Happiness

I can't even comment on the fact you haven't seen "Gladiator" or "Braveheart"...

    Wow.

LOL @ you even adding "Soul Plane" to the list. I haven't seen that movie all the way through and based on the bits and pieces I saw, I'm not missing ANYTHING!

  15. lol at you 12kyle, much like u. i haven't seen alot of movies of late, but i have seen the classics, ie...Color Purple, Godfather, catching up on the last 4 years though and i have no problem with it. That dollar rental fits right into my budget.

  16. Damn Man,I can't believe you've never seen the Godfather. Unlike you I love the movies...Spent half of my life in the theatre and I've seen every movie on that list that you say you didn't see. Hey, some of my girls didn't like sports...but all of em liked a movie of somehow..It was a great dating choice. My wife for instance, only likes Basketball..She finds Baseball boring and is confused by Football..The movies was the next obvious choice! lol!
