talkin loud,,,sayin nuffin'

You're the instigator, the orator of the town
You're the worst when you converse, just a big mouth clown
You talk when you're awake, I heard you talk when you sleep
Has anyone ever told you, that talk is cheap

Run DMC (You Talk Too Much)

I told y'all last week that I was skipping the office Christmas party. Now, I'm glad that I did.

As I walked into the office yesterday, I was immediately hit with questions..."Kyle, how was your party?" "Where did you go?" "What did you do?"

You see...to avoid going to the Christmas party I told them that a birthday party was being thrown for me. That way, I wouldn't have to deal with the fools on last Saturday night. So, I gave them the line about how nice my party was...we had a deejay...and how much fun I had. And they hung on my every word.

Not soon after I told my lie...i mean story about my party...people started talking about the office Christmas party which featured several karokye contests. I thought to myself..."here comes the drama, rumors, and gossip." I don't get down like that. I've never been one to worry about what's going on with the next person. Why worry about their problems...I've got my own.

Before I could make a cup of coffee, my supervisor pulls me in her office. She starts the conversation by telling me about the party. She says that it's probably not the "corporate thing" to do...you know...gossip about folks at the company. I was like "cool...I didn't ask." I really wanted to say..."i don't give a shit!" But that may have been too harsh for her ears. After she tells me this...she proceeds to tell me EVERYTHING that happened. She told me who was drunk...who got hit on...who passed out. Then, she even went to talking about this dude named Mike and his wife. I like Mike. He's a bit nosey but he's cool with me. She said that Mike's wife "looked like his mother". WTF??? Why would you say that?

My response...much like Flav on his show...wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

This brawd proceeds to show me pictures that she took!!! I offered no comments but I looked just to appease her. I couldn't believe how she was talking about how somebody looks when she looks like trash. She's white and her hubby is black...and he ain't no Denzel (lol) but that's besides the point. My point is this...if people are willing to talk bad about others to you...what will they say about you behind your back to others?????

Anybody know people who gossip like this? Ever had to confront em? hollatchaboi!!!!

  3. I can't stand people like that!!!! I know many, and I don't trust them, nor do I like to hang around them...too damn messy.

If she ever tries to give you problems, you should use her gossip against her in a letter...evil, but it works ;)

  4. I used to work for somebody that was a notorious gossip...so bad that she scared me with the things she'd say about people. She would tell one person something the other person said about them to get a reaction, then go back and tell the other person what that person said. I watched her do this several times. Eventually she started a rumor about me absconding
some money...(I'm talking about 100 G's)Of course there was no truth to this...and I threatened to take her to court over the allegations.
The charges were dropped and she told them that she was bi polar and that when not on her medication she tended to speak "out of term" I quit about six months after that incident and began working where I currently work. I don't socialize with anybody here because of just that type of thing..People I roll with,
don't get down like that. As for my former supervisor...She was recently suspended without pay for
another incident where another employee was falsely accused of sexual harrassment by her..She's crazy.

  5. When I talk about people its for a purpose... no point in hating just to hate!

I remember when I started a new job once everybody took it upon themself to "warn" me about a certain chick and not to befriend her... I was like damn... can I make my own conclusion as to whether or not I'm going to like the chick. Even though I ended up despising her all kinds of way... can I find out about someone's raunchiness on my own.

  6. See ... that's why corporate christmas parties should be off limits ...

Where do u work b/c the only thing I get called to the side about is job performance ... we won't go any further with that ...

Keep the details of your party sharp as they may appear again ... I'm not into gossiping ... it takes a lot of energy and as you said ... I have my own stuff to weigh me down ...

  10. You know what you are completely right...and I can only assume that she did the same when you werent around. Hell what will she say about her wife.

You should have stopped her in her tracks....if you would not have been there to entertain that ish...then she would have felt real dumb if you would have told her that Mike's my friend and I wont tolerate that. There has to be some type of company policy implimented...WHATS HER PROBLEM,so what if hes wife was uggg....she didnt marry her. Damn!!

  12. Hey Kyle,
That is crazy. But,yes I do know folks like this. There was a girl at my job who complained about every damn thing. She talked about everybody too. One day I put this sign on my desk in a frame that said. "If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your ATTITUDE, DON'T COMPLAIN". Everyone that walked by my desk cracked up because they knew who I was referring to. Guess what? She got the hint. LOL
BTW the quote is from Maya Angelou.

  14. @ Just O
I feel you. Those folks are just nosey for no apparent reason

    @ Darius
I agree. Corporate america sucks from time to time

    @ Beautifully.Conjured.Up
Thanks for the advice!! You know I'm gonna take that advice! LOL

    @ Keith
Wow! Talk about a psycho chick! That is crazy. I mean, look at the measures that you had to go through to defend yourself and your name.

    @ Eb the Celeb
Sometimes you have to be leery of those who tell you to be leery of others. You fee me?

    @ xcentricgem
No doubt! Who wants to deal with a bunch of rhetoric, bs, and hearsay?

    @ Keisha the Kitten
You know what's funny...she talked about who was drunk but every picture that I saw her in...she had a glass in her hand!

  15. @ nikki
That's my motto as well. Can't trust!

    @ Poca
Yes! She looks like trash. Maybe I should take a picture with my phone when she's not looking so that you can see how trashy she looks. LOL

    @ Kin'Shar
Mike's wife was a lil bit "tough to look at" but you ain't heard it from me! LOL

    @ Charece
I'm not a pyschic but I play one on tv. LOL

It's cool to vent. That's what this blog is about. Keep doing what you're doing and pay those sukkaz no mind. As long as your employer is happy with you...keep it movin'

    @ The F$%K it List
Have fun at the party. Just beware of the sukkaz that have their eyes on you.

    @ LRenee
Great quote! Glad to see that she was able to take heed to it

@ Da Vinci The Verbal Arteest
Sup homie...good to hear from you!

Yeah. I played the roll like I really cared. Deep down...i really don't like any of those clowns. LOL

  16. People gossip because they don't have anything going on in their lives so they need something else to talk about other than their boring existence.
I talk as little about myself as possible while I'm at work. I don't like for the people I work with to know anything about me or my activities outside of work.
I'd hate to have to jack somebody up over telling my damn business at work.

  17. my boss works in a different office from me about 2 blocks away and when ever she comes down to my office (about once a week) she always ask ME what's going on, what's the gossip around the office, i usually look at her and just say " nothings going on, what gossip?" which in turn makes her tell me about the gossip, and trust i can care less i be trying to IM or blog. lol

  18. Oh trust me they are talking about you too, lol. Thats the nature of the beast. I keep it moving and say nothing.

The job I am at is cool because there is a lot of dudes, but when I was working with nothing but women......
