gotta give it up

They say that this is the season for giving.

Why can't it be the season for receiving? LOL

Seriously, it's good to give. Then again...it could depend on what you give. I remember one time a young 12kyle gave a chick his a pink slip for Christmas. Yep...broke up with her the week of Christmas. LOL. But I was young and crazy back then.

Nevertheless, we're talking about gifts today. What is that special gift that you'll be getting for your man/woman? Or your child/parent/family member?

Keep in mind that you may have to be discrete. For example, don't say that you're gonna buy your momma a mink coat if you know that she reads this blog...b/c she does read this blog. haaaaa

  2. Shoot, it's about time I was on the receiving end. I want somebody to think hard and long about the perfect gift for me as I do for (just about) everyone I know :-).

  3. LOL! I have less than a day to buy the Teacher a gift. I know this is wrong of me but I don't trust his judgement to give me a good gift! I sent him a list of what I wanted with links, sizes, colors and where the stores were located. He told me yesterday that he didn't think he was going to give me anything off my list!! WHAT? So for now I just bought him a tabletop book:DEFiniton the art and design of hip hop! Make sure you go pick it up for yourself it's a hot book!

Anyway, maybe some tickets for the Knicks/Lakers in February...his bday is Jan.9.

Coasters from Crate and Barrel(that's what he wants)

I have to come up with something else in case the Knicks tickets fall through...Got any suggestions? I only have tomorrow and 3 hrs on Wednesday then I fly to my parents! Lawd help me. I ALWAYS GIVE HOT GIFTS and this year I'm just not feeling it! Probably cause it's over between us...lol!

I'm buying my mom a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue. She's a big scotch drinker and the Blue is the best blended scotch($225) that's a mess! I refuse to pay $400 for McCallum 18! Also they are engraving the bottle for free!! I know it sounds crazy to get your mom a bottle of liquor for x-mas but this lady has EVERYTHING. She always says she just wants her kids and grandkids to be safe! So Johnny Walker Blue is it....lol!

  11. Thats so nice Keith - what a lovely gift. Im going to get Mr Special tickets for a cruise on the London Eye, he has lived here all this time and has never been on there...

  12. Don't feel bad Eb. I don't have a "Boo" either. So I will be chilling at my mom's house.
She asked for some (metallic)gold shoes to match her new suit and hat. I tried to deter her but she insists. I am assuming she has a Star Search audition and is in need of something extra flashy.
My dad will likely get another shirt and tie set. He only buys white shirts and plain looking ties and it is up to me to "spruce" him up.
My stepdad, he'll probably get a bottle of wine so he can spread his Christmas cheer until New Year's.
After that, my nieces and nephews all get gift cards. I've already bought clothes and noise-making toys for my godkids which means, I'm tapped out!

  13. My children are getting 'A Lesson in the Blessing' ... That's nothing more than an evening of me trying to instill character and build substance in the youth of tomorrow.

Outside of that ... their financial portfolio's are being reviewed ... and a few gifts ..

  14. Hey Brother!

I don't buy Christmas gifts.....However, I plan to spend Christmas day at one of the group homes I work at showing the teens love who did not have family to visit for the holiday. I give love on Christmas day and beyond....it's free and straight from the heart :)

  15. Last year my baby bought me a convertible. This year he managed to get two tickets to the Presidential Inaugaral Ball and a beautful gown! (Damn I am lucky)
As for him, his birthday is Christmas day so he is getting Christmas and Birthday gifts from me and the kids. His big gift will be coming in the Spring! ALOHA!

  16. Feeling Eb and Smarty Jones' pain right now... but lucky for me, I do have a little one :)

My son is so sweet. When I asked him what he wanted for Christmas, he told me he wanted a video game called "Sonic Unleashed". I didn't say anything after he said that because I figured he wasn't done, but after he said that, he got quiet. I asked "Okay...", ready for him to continue... and he tells me "That's all mommy. That's all I want."

I have the best son in the world!

But we already know mommy couldn't leave it at that. I got him a bunch of clothes, a pair of dress and tennis shoes, and some pajamas. And since the video game was cheaper than I thought it was going to be, I got him 2 more.

    Merry Christmas big bro!!!

Moms got a bottle of perfume - her request
Stepfather got a camcorder bag with a battery pack - moms request
    Nieces got clothes

  19. For Christmas I am giving everyone a big fat ZERO!
XMAS is a PAGAN holiday. It is not Jesus Christ's birthday. And all of this materialism is OOC (out of control).
I am big on birthdays. I try to make family feel special on their special day.

  21. My fiance blogs, so I can't say what I'm getting him. But I got my mom an I Pod classic because she's at the gym a lot and she has no music and just looks sad when I see her. LOL. Plus some other miscellaneous stuff--my brother has been getting her all of this Princeton crap--so I had to go on a full frontal attack with UMD and UVA law stuff--IT'S WAR. LOL.

    Happy holidays Kyle!!
