  1. Man, that's really tough. Just nailing it down to 1 Biggie song.

Well, this week my favorite Biggie song is Story to Tell. Don't know why. Love the beat and they story is ill.

  2. First time I saw Big in person was at Hot 97's Summer Jam. I don't remember any other performer but him.

We had HORRIBLE seats...they were so high EVERYBODY on stage looked like ants...but somehow I got the guy in front of me to let me borrow his binoculars for Big's set. Yeah I begged him! LOL

I remember Big when he wasn't so big...I can't even try to post my FAVORITE joint. Damn I am really struggling with that one...can't do it.

    RIP...my bed-stuy homie!

It's real hard trying to narrow Biggie's hits down to a favorite one. I guess I like this one b/c it gave you a chance to hear Biggie and Jay Z (two of my favorite MCs) on a track.

    @ Opinionated Diva
That's funny. The first time I heard him was on "Dolly My Baby". I borrowed that tape from one of my boys and I never gave it back. I listened to it every day. Biggie blew me away. I LITERALLY played that tape until it popped! LOL

  4. You ever heard "Keep Ya Hands High" with Tracey Lee and Big? Bigs opening verse on that cut was CLASSIC.

  7. wow. only one favorite? ok, well if I HAVE TO choose, it's gotta be Juicy. Til this day- that song comes on in the club, everybody gets up to dance, everybody knows the lyrics, especially when I party in BK.

"...now we drink champagne when we thirs-tay..."

    Big Up Bed-Stuy!

I feel you. There are soooo many to chose from.

    @ Eb the Celeb
I KNEW that you'd say that. LOL. That song is a feel good song. It doesn't matter what kinda mood I'm in...One More Chance will make me feel better.

    @ Jaded NYer
I agree. When Biggie comes on in a club, you gotta get on the dance floor. Sometimes I go to the middle of the dance floor and dance by my damn self when Biggie is on. LOL

  9. Hypnotize makes me laugh and want to dance...

  10. Sky's The Limit...but it's hard to nail down just one Biggie joint though...for such a short career, he made many classics.

  11. My favorite Biggie joint would have to be...I want to say One More Chance but I cant. Whenever I listen to Biggie, Im not checking for One More Chance all that much (love the video though). So I'd have to say...Juicy.

I think that song personified Biggie.

  12. @ Ms Pudding
That was the first time that I had ever heard about dudes rockin pink gators. LOL. Biggie was a sharp dresser.

    @ Charles
The video for that song is my favorite video. The kids were playing Biggie, Puff, Busta, and Kim. Real nice. Welcome 2 tha Planet.

    @ Don
I agree. Biggie had his daughter and his mom in that video. Isn't it hard to pick ONE song? LOL

  13. One More Chance remix--the beat, the hook, everything was working on that track.

  14. I was never the biggest B.I.G fan, but I guess I'd have to say my all-time favorite song of his was "Juicy."

I can rap every single line! LOL!!!

  15. @ TravelDiva
That is so true. I remember the video had a ton of stars in it.

    @ Brown Girl Gumbo
That's funny. I'll bet that's the only Biggie song that you know all the words to, right? LOL

  16. @ 12kyle: Yep, it is. Same with Tupac. They defined the era so much with many different songs.

  17. I dig that you said "ONE" of and not "THE"...thank you

Favorite song of all time is easy:
    Unbelievable.

Still dont buy or care about he and Jay Z not writing stuff down...still think he was better than Pac in almost every way

    e.

  18. Yeah, i got to say "One more chance", as well.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ok me and E gon fire... no way possible BIG was better than Pac, not lyrically, not voice, not delivery, are you serious.... there is absolutely no comparison! 2pac all day everyday!

    ReplyDelete
  20. @ Don
I agree. They both defined that era of hip hop. To this day, emcees are still being measured by their greatness.

    @ e
Have you ever noticed how both Biggie and Jay Z said that they never wrote rhymes and now all of a sudden...everybody is talking about how they are doing the same thing. I'm not buying that...at all. I do believe that Big and Jay have done that on SOME songs but not on every one.

    @ Mizrepresent
One More Chance seems to be the consensus pick.

    @ Eb the Celeb
I always said if you wanna see 2 people fight...ask them who's better between Biggie and Pac? LOL. That said...Biggie is better. It's not even close. LOL

  21. TuPac is the ULTIMATE...shit you can barely hear biggies rhymes through his attempts at trying to breath...Biggie couldn't hold Pac's nut's if he were a jock strap nuff said. My favorite biggie joint...errr ummm Notorious thugs...It's bone and biggie biggie,It's bone and biggie biggie.

You KNOW that I hold you in high regard. I think that you are the shyt! But I have to disagree with you on this one. It's tough to compare Biggie vs Tupac. That's like saying..."who's better...Larry Bird or Magic Johnson?" Haaaaa. Tupac's social commentary was unmatched by any other emcee. But Biggie's lyrical prowess was tremendous. I think if you'd match lyric for lyric...song for song off Pac's 2 best cds and Biggies best cds...I think Biggie wins.

  23. I'll go with One More Chance simply because I loved the feeling it gave and the video. Never saw that many cameos in one video.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @ Jewells
    Maaaaad cameos!!!

  25. Damn K-Dot. I finally got a chance to see what your bloggin is all about & this is the first topic I touch?! For true Hip Hop heads, this is not an easy pick - but here goes.

I'm gonna have to go with "Everyday Struggle". We all go through it, just not as graphic as Big did

"I had the master plan, I'm in the Caravan, on my way to Maryland, with my man 2-Techs to help him with his projects. They call him 2-Techs, he totes 2 techs, and when he starts to bust he likes to ask who's next!" Classic lines from a classic artist.

  26. Whuddup D?!?! Thanks for stoppin thru, bruh.

Everyday Struggle was the staple of that first cd. It stayed within the theme of "Ready to Die".
